The NJ Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association was founded in 1978 to:
- Preserve and perpetuate the American Heritage of Bluegrass & Oldtime music
- Promote the coming together of individuals and groups of all ages, both amateur and professional, who are interested in playing Bluegrass and/or Oldtime music on acoustic instruments, either formally (on-stage), or informally (in open jam sessions)
- Offer workshops for the encouragement of and assistance to those members who may wish to improve their proficiency as performers
- Raise funds to publicize Bluegrass and Old-time Music Our association is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian organization.
