string musicians without borders
String Nation began as an idea in a conversation, a conversation that explored the concept that string players are a nation unto themselves, separate from national borders...a concept that music spans those boundaries. The idea blossomed into a non-profit organization that launched a new kind of festival in 2007. Like other festivals, String Nation has workshops and performances by musicians at the top of their form. The festival is unlike others in that it does it all in an indoor venue where sound quality is pristine. Artists in the inaugural year include American artists Tim O'brien, Darol Anger and Mike Marshall, Seamus Egan, Hamilton de Holanda and Väsen.
