The Summer Music Festival at Kutztown University presents an exciting opportunity for dedicated high school instrumental music students. Students spend the week with fellow musicians studying, rehearsing, and performing under the guidance of Department of Music Faculty from Kutztown University and other professional musicians.Program Highlights:
Student musicians can play in chamber music ensembles or the full orchestra
Students can participate in master classes and open rehearsals
Participants can choose from a variety of class topics.
The Summer Music Festival is stimulates and challenges participants to develop individual and ensemble performance skills and inspires young musicians to enrich their understanding and fondness for music.
Festival Orchestra:
As many as 80 participants rehearse for and perform in a concert at the end of the festival in the Summer Festival Orchestra.
Those students not selected for the Festival Orchestra (due to instrumentation) participate in chamber ensembles as part of the culminating concert.
All participants have full access to the teaching and artist faculty throughout the week.
