A. J. Evans
Teaches at Meadowood: Wednesdays
We are delighted that A. J. (Andrew) Evans is joining Meadowood's cadre of excellent teachers. A. J. and Meadowood were born the same year. When he was four, A. J. began asking his parents (both music teachers) for a guitar and guitar lessons. They thought he was a little young, but started to think he was serious when he kept asking after he turned five. They promised him that, if he still wanted to get a guitar and lessons once he turned six, he could.

He immediately stopped pestering, and they thought he'd forgotten... until a week before his sixth birthday when he asked, "May I still have a guitar for my birthday?" He began lessons here at Meadowood at age 6 with Gene Cullison.
Studying with Gene and, living with two music teachers, he had a nearly ideal situation to practice and grow as a musician. After many years with Gene, he later studied with Dave Cullen, and later still attended Temple University where he earned a Bachelor's in Music Education with an Emphasis in Jazz Studies. Guitar remained his primary instrument.
"Mr. Evans" is now the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade band director at C. E. Cole Intermediate school in the Fleetwood School District. He is as enthusiastic about teaching as he is playing guitar. He is literally a. life-long musician. We couldn't be more pleased to welcome him to Meadowood where he accepts beginning through advanced guitar students. He is currently here Wednesday evenings.
