Gene Cullison

Teaches at Meadowood: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri & Sat

Gene is an excellent solo and ensemble guitarist, bass player, and harmonica player (“harpist”) who performs virtually every style of music. He holds a music and music education degree from West Chester University, and his extensive teaching experience and decades of regular gigging reinforce the skills he brings to his students at Meadowood Music. Gene teaches guitar from beginning through master level, bass guitar and harmonica from beginning through intermediate level, and beginning violin/fiddle.

Gene has performed everywhere from campgrounds to casinos to cruise ships, working in settings ranging from solo acts to large bands and covering styles including Country, Rock, Funk, and many others. He continues to gig locally but has focused more on teaching during the last several years of his more than thirty-year playing career.

Equally comfortable working with children and adults, Gene is deeply invested in each student’s musical development. He teaches music reading to students who do not already read, and incorporates music theory to help students develop strong aural skills and the ability to play by ear. Gene enjoys helping students set and achieve specific musical goals as they work with him to master guitar, bass, or harmonica.

We are delighted to have Gene teaching at Meadowood Music.
