Meadowood's Fine Repair and Restoration staff have over twenty-five years of combined experience.
We are deeply aware of and grateful for the trust that people must have in us to bring their instruments to our shop for work. It is our very genuine pleasure to set-up, repair and restore instruments to optimal playing condition.
Mike Andrews has been repairing instruments since 1996, trained at the Martin Guitar factory and under his mentors Bob Smakula (fretted instruments) and Chris Germain (violin family instruments). He is authorized to do warrantee repairs on Martin guitars -- he spent a year of Mondays at the Martin Guitar Factory Repair Shop to work with and learn from Martin's in-house experts. Masterful on set-up, repair and restoration of fretted instruments, Mike's love is the building, repair and restoration of violin family instruments.
As a violin maker, Mike builds custom hand-built instruments for for clients who can choose the spruce & maple.
Mark Mihlbauer, trained at the University of New Hamshire as a bowmaker and restorer, subcontracts our bow rehairing and restoration work. Mark has been building and restoring bows for more than 30 years. He can repair anything that's repairable and provide expert, honest assessment of whether a repair is justified.
Meadowood is a Martin Repair Service Center authorized to perform warrantee repair work.
Our focus is on stringed instruments. We make referrals to expert repair technicians whose specialties will meet your needs.

Margaret Young is a lifelong musician who began an apprenticeship in instrument repair with Mike Andrews in 2019. She has become proficient in many areas including cutting nuts and saddles, fitting bridges, and doing setups. She is gaining proficiency in more complex repairs by assisting Mike in assessing and performing them.
Her work reflects her careful attention to detail and respect of the instruments on which she works.
