Fine stringed & fretted instruments - Expert repair & instruction

A little about us...
Meadowood Music, a wonderful stringed instrument specialty shop, begUn as the dream of husband & wife, Mike & Paula. In 1995, the couple conceived of a music store where excellent service & products are the norm, a place where people make & share music, a store that offers high quality musical gear at great prices. In 2000, they opened Meadowood in Kutztown PA. In 2005, they moved the store to its current location on route 222 in Blandon, PA.
The store offers more than instruments & accessories. Meadowood offers expert repair & restoration of all stringed instruments. Mike builds and restores violins & is an authorized Martin Guitar warrantee service technician. A cadre of fine musicians offer high quality musical instruction at Meadowood.
Meadowood offers this website as a way for people near & far to visit the store on-line. It shows the store inventory (we do our best to keep it current) & provides info that's useful to both amateur & professional musicians & music lovers: care tips for stringed instruments, links to websites that promote live music, contacts for local musicians, info & links for workshops, camps, schools, festivals, radio stations & links to manufacturers that supply Meadowood with its fine wares.
Mike & Paula would love to hear from you. You can reach them through the 'Contact' link in the menu at the top of this page. You can visit them in person at the store, or call during business hours. You can track special events and day-to-day activities at Meadowood with the calendar of events at the top of this page & on the Meadowood Music FaceBook page. FAA MODERNIZATION AND REFORM ACT OF 2012
Federal Law Requires Airlines to Allow Musical Instruments on Planes
Updated: 1/19/18
Thank the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), for lobbying Congress (for many years) to get legislation that protects musicians who travel by air with their instruments. Acccording to the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, musicians may carry an instrument onto the cabin of an aircraft if the instrument can be stowed safely in one of the approved carry-on locations, and there is still space for the instrument at the time the passenger boards. This ruling means that musicians need to board as early as possible to ensure that there's space. For more details about how to board early and what to do if an instrument is too large for carry-on storage, read on.
