Deering Vega Vintage Star Banjo
5-string Open Back
The Vintage Star's Dobson tone ring (patented by Henry Dobson in 1881) is visible through the Renaissance head and produces rich lows with clear highs, and adds lovely sustain. The tone ring rests on a comparatively thin, 12” violin grade maple rim. These attributes, with a no knot tailpiece, produce exactly the sound sought by Clawhammer players.
The frosty bronze powder finish is both durable and beautiful, complimenting the exotic smokey streaks running through the ebony of the fingerboard. Unlike nickel, the finish is hypoallergenic.
